Spring Break is here! Hooray! We are all very excited about the many things we will be doing over the next two weeks - from "stay-cations" to airplane holidays to daycare fun days! Thank you to everyone for coming out to our parent teacher conferences. It's so great for the students to have their parents get a glimpse into their everyday 8:25 to 2:20 world. Today in Math we did some adding with pattern blocks to create pictures. We had fun trying to find the sums and complete the patterns. Madame also challenged us to use our pattern blocks in a STEM activity where we tried to make an umbrella using only the shapes on our table - and all before the bomb timer on the smartboard exploded! We also got to do some "Spring Rotations" today. We travelled as a group to a couple of different classrooms (Mme Whitelock's and Mme O'Shea's) to do some different activities, while Mrs. Lemmen's and Mrs. Sandhu's classes came to our room. We got to hunt for leprechauns, build structures, etc. We had a lot of fun! Mme Van Sickle took advantage of the used book sale at school this week to buy all kinds of new books for our classroom! We've been devouring superhero comics, glittery Star Wars stories, and Princess tales. Here Jonah uses his amazing reading skills to a read a new book to his friends. And we got to finish off our day with outside centres today with all of the K and K/1 classes! It was a great day! Happy Spring Break!
