Could you survive in the forest with very few supplies? - We are ready! We made our plans... ...we gathered our materials, and we set off for an epic adventure to a not-so-far-away land. In this land, we got to be the ones in charge, giving instructions to the adults. They weren't allowed to give us design suggestions - only ask guiding questions. Thank you to some of the parents for the following photos... And while the adults may have quietly expressed doubts about some of our design ideas, in the end, we managed to construct some pretty awesome forest dens. One of them even had a disco ball for dance parties. ;-) And with all the salmon berries and huckleberries that we managed to forage, we were pretty convinced that we could spend the night there, no problem! Hey, look! It's a homemade frisbee! And it actually works! Earlier in the week, we went on another adventure to hide our very own geocache! The exact location is top secret, but we did draw you a map. We have distributed our map to a number of different classes around the school and are eager to see if they end up finding our cache and signing our log book. We had 6 more butterflies emerge from their chrysalis this week, too! Some of us weren't at school last week when the first butterflies were released, so this gave us the perfect opportunity to have a turn holding them. Inside the classroom, it's been a constant woodshop lately. We began our projects for our dads and then got inspired to build other projects, as well. Some of us have also been spending all our play time sanding our creations in an ongoing contest to see who can make theirs the smoothest. We also did some reading, writing and arithmetic this week... promise!
