It was a celebratory week! We were so thrilled that the Intermediates at our school brought back the FIRST PRIZE TROPHY for our district track meet!! All of the competitors did a little victory parade through the school building and we went all out with our school spirit signs. It was also "Fun Day" this week! We loved going through all the different stations and were having such a great time, Madame included, that we didn't even notice that the whole school had gone in for snack time and we were the only ones left in the field playing with bean bags. Oops! It was also Madame's favourite annual wilderness survival trip to Hoffman! We spent some time designing plans for building a fort with tarps and ropes, then went to the forest and tried to execute those plans. While most of us didn't stick to our original drawings, we came up with some pretty great creations! We also learned about the differences between edible/inedible berries in the forest (and emphasized that we must always ask an adult before eating, even if we think we're sure that we know what they are!). There was definitely a wild salmon berry and huckleberry feast alongside the picnic lunches that we brought. And Nana Kesler even surprised us with Timbits!! Not only did we perform our play for several classes this week, but we also got to be an audience for a Grade 2/3 "Reader's Theatre" and a Kindergarten play. Extra photos...
